The BAYCAT By You Photothon!

We want to celebrate all the ways this City has inspired and grown with us. Join us in the BAYCAT by You Photothon to raise $25,000.

For the past nine years, BAYCAT has educated, empowered and employed over 3,000 young people in the digital media arts. Help us raise $25k, or the equivalent of 12 iMacs, by the end of the year to fund 2014 educational programs so their students can continue to create award-winning short films and share untold stories.

Like to take photos? The more you participate the more money we raise. Each photo submitted brings $1 to BAYCAT.

How to Play:

1. Watch BAYCAT media and get inspired for our theme of the week.

2. Share your photos.

I am eternally grateful; our team and Board is so thankful, and our students are inspired with hope and the real meaning of community by the investment you made in them.
Please share our good news of surpassing the goal; we will stay in touch with you to let you know the impact of your advocacy and investment as our program unfolds for the Fall.

WE did it! YOU did it!

BAYCAT story update in SF Appeal

Crystal Sykes of the online newspaper SF Appeal recently wrote a wonderful write-up of our Summer Open House and ongoing campaign:

With tables full of snacks, walls crowded with inspirational graphics and the echoes of laugher and cheers all around, it was clear that the Creative Room of the Bayview Hunter’s Point Center for Arts and Technology(BAYCAT) offices were overflowing with parents, friends and local community members to celebrate the work made by the local Bayview youth at the summer premiere of the newest installment of ‘Zoom-In’.The show, hosted by two BAYCAT Youth Media Producers, was filled with excitement and joy, a far departure from the heartache of having nearly $50,000 worth of equipment stolen from the non-profit’s office just two weeks prior.

“We had a rough summer,” says Brittany Janis, the organization’s development manager, to the audience. “But no matter how rough it got, BAYCAT overcame it.”
