BAYCAT Youth Media Producer, Isaac Haney-Owens’ “Talking About It” has appeared in film festivals in 3 cities: San Francisco, Chicago and most recently in New York City at the Media That Matters Film Festival. His short film highlights his experience growing up with Asperger’s Syndrome. Isaac and his family were warmly greeted by young people, parents and filmmakers, who were deeply inspired by his courage to speak for others with disabilities. In addition to receiving the Emerging Voice Award, Isaac won $500 which he is investing in the latest edition of Final Cut Pro so he can make more movies.
Because of his experience at BAYCAT, not only has Isaac become a spokesperson for people with disabilities, he is also a role model for others as he is pursuing post-secondary education at Fresno State’s Wayfinders Program. We are so proud of Isaac, are deeply inspired by his story and looking forward to his ongoing accomplishments!
